Welcome on the "Rondje Voorne" site of the Dutch running club "Voorne Atletiek". On this site you will find information on the greatest ultra-run over 50 kilometres (some 31 miles) in the Netherlands called "Rondje Voorne". It will be held for the 13e time on Sunday 15 june 2008 on a superb track on the island of Voorne with it's picturesque small towns and villages, it's sand dunes and beautiful beaches. The island of Voorne is situated west of the city of Rotterdam.

The run starts and finishes in the historical centre of the city of Brielle and will follow an almost car free track with an extra challenge, a stretch of 10 kilometres (little over 6 miles) along the sandy beaches of Voorne. If you think 50 kilometres is a little overdone you can bring friends, family or colleagues to take part in the relay run along the same track. You can choose to run as a couple or in a team with as many members as you think are needed to cope with the 50 kilometres. Only one remark for the ones choosing the relay. We expect the other team members to accompany the runner of your team on bicycles. Bicycles are available on request. Also accommodation can be arranged on request since we want you to have a good time while we are hosting you. On the track there will be stands providing water, tea or sports drinks every 5 ^th kilometre. Dressing rooms and showers present.

The limit for this run will be 6 hours.

Solo runners are allowed to have a companion on a bicycle.

The entry fee will be 10 euro per person (which is under 6 pounds sterling or 9 US dollar at the current exchange rate). Instruction on how to pay will be supplied upon registering. If you register before the 10^th of August this entry fee will include a T-shirt. All finishers will receive a medal. You can also register on the day of the event from 8.30 am onwards at the registration office which will be in the "Maerlant College" located at the Jan Matthijssenlaan 7 in Brielle. Start of the runners will be at 10:30am.
